Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all

I-Tunes pain in the wrong place

What all I wanted to do was to create a play list according to folders on my machine. Since the music files on my computer is categorised with folder names e.g all English songs are under folder English. This makes my life easier I do not have to go to i-Tune and each time select songs and categorize them as per the list. Instead I would be able to do something like folder English, would be play list English. Allas !! I could not find any way to do this in i-Tune. I struggled for few weeks and then came the big idea. I installed winamp and created a play list assigned to each folder exported the play list and then imported it into i-Tune. Now I need not to worry about windows crash , though I would lose all the podcasts but that could be recovered.

How secure are our defence installations ?

Employing a Spy may be a thing of passe now thanks to tools like Google Map and Wikimapia.org . I can have a birds eye view of a airbase from my desktop, worse it also gives me longitude and latitude in equivalent decimal coordinates. Longitude and Latitude are coordinates on basis of these values one can locate exact geographical location on earth. Check those y=22471528&x=70010011&z=17&l=0&m=a in address bar of your Internet explorer browser by clicking here . In a country like ours fighting with terrorism , this would add fuel to fire. Imagine these terrorist with those sophisticated rocket launcher where in they can attack from a safer distance by keying the longitude, latitude into the launcher (do I sound like Americans) . Further to add one can have military information for most of the countries from http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/index.html I am a bit jittery after discovering all this on internet.

Google talk has come a long way.

I installed the latest version of google talk and could notice change in terms of features and download size. File size has inflated to 1.5 MB as compared to 800 Kb. One of the many new features that I could notice is that one can display the current music track as your status message. To use this feature simply follow the following steps (assuming latest version of google talk is installed) In your Google Talk client, click Settings. Click Audio in the left navigation bar. Click the Share music listening history with Google Music Trends check box. Click OK to apply your change. This will share you music listening history. This feature is available with most of the popular music players like Winamp , iTunes etc. Now to show off the latest sound track you own, play the music and set the status on google talk as "Show current music track".

Gurupurab

Sikh community is celebrating Gurupurab today. I have always been amazed by the sense of seva (service) these people have. You could see a sikh step out of his Mercedes and offering seva in different ways. The richest and the poor all offer seva with the same commitment. Today during the celebrations, I could see the same commitment with a strong attachment to religion and community service. Their is lot to learn from them , seva (service) eliminates ego and blesses one with love and compassion to fellow beings. Happy Gurupurub to you all

Certificates for Me

Look ma I got four certificates this came after a long wait. Anyways with god grace and mighty will I was able to deliver many times more than expected (Thats my belief, hope this does not inflates my head and ego) . Have a look at my work station, and Pradeep the perfect soulmate for the bengali girl in our office. Certificates are for : Floor Champion. (don't laugh) Max Transaction. Best Conversion. For Contribution. (The Open Source software build with PHP,SQLlite and windows batch file. How to forget the mail management software) The bearded COO thanked for the contribution, and to wrap the ceremony quickly handed over all the certificates to me in one go. Smart guy ;-) I regret that I did not thank Prasoon and Vikram as they too spear-headed the initiative.Thanking them via my blog. Above all thanks to almighty for all the grace and love.

Relationship

Human are we and being social animal we know how to be social and make relations. But given a choice about relations we tend to be very cautious. This is what I went through in gone few days. I was never so critical of people and their actions. But this being a special and most important relation transformed me to be a critic. Relaising the fact that relations are easy to form but require lots of sacrifice/compromise to get along, makes me more cautious. I know I sound a bit confused here thus as usual will leave everything to lords will and wish.

Firefox 2.0 alpha Powered by SQLlite

SQLlite a small database now enters into browser arena. I would say this would be prominent adoption of SQLlite in a project like Firefox. Their were talks in mailing lists, about SQLlite being used to store bookmarks and history. With this move, a whole new dimension of programing will emerge. Creating XUL programs with SQLlite as the database. Down the line I am sure we could see some examples using SQLlite as their database and forms being rendered on firefox with XUL.

Would Sahara be next T-Series or Reliance

T-Series introduced Audio CD's and players at damn cheap price in mid 90's. Reliance intensified the tariff war in telecom industry. Now comes Sahara, they are aggressively selling their PCs and their latest offering . Digital cameras and that to at lowest price in its range. Hats off to these entrepreneur, who not only invest money and take risk buy doing a populist business i.e higher number of customer count.

Baby Steps

Concentrate on your goal and take baby steps to the goal. This is what I heard from one of our Managers in IT, these people handle mission critical data. Was though surprised how could these people be such calm and composed when they are working on something that's like fire. May be this is the difference between working in enterprise environment. Further thinking on it "baby steps" do require loads of purpose and patience, that would accumulate as mission accomplished.

Yes I was their in Linux Asia 2006. Enjoyed a lot and got loads of software injections to keep going on for atleast one year. I met Chopra's (EFY tycons) and the author turned editor of Linux For You, Samartha. A chuby guy who till last year was doing his Engg EXTC.

Linux Asia 2006.A new trend was very evident, the event had a strong presence of big names. You could not find any XYZ company which wanted to encash the Linux name. This is a very positive trend as now quality and wide coverage is on top priority of Linux users.

Rang De Basanti

A true patriotic movie which took me to emotional heights. I cried, sobbed through out the movie. It touched me, because I to aspired serving my nation. Death while defending my country would have been the best death. But death because of faulty war machine , was never welcomed. The movie addresses the issue very well. A must see movie

Now track Aircrafts on Internet

Internet Explorer 7 heading to junk software status

In continuation to browser wars. Micro$oft has come up with Internet Explorer 7.0 beta, with loyal M$ supporters looking for a brighter day ahead. I was disappointed , the browser did not render html page of popular website (Including mine) very well. It seems M$ has not learned the lesson of HTML standard set by W3C. If this is the way Microsoft works with its browser no doubt in near future I.E would be a junk software bundled with Windows. On brighter note , I.E has a very good preview feature where, at a one go I can look at all page opened in tags, but is this not on minds of Firefox community ?.

A belated Happy New Year

This new year eve was different for me. On the first day of year I was shifting place, and the new place we shifted to was still under construction. We had to stay with carpenters and painters. Thanks to local dhaba wala, though his preparation was mouth watering but who knew I would be watering my *** every hour due to upset stomach and fever, for next 5 days. On top of all this I was disconnected from the e-world as the net connection was not shifted. Finally every this has settled down and I am looking forward to my accomplished my unaccomplished dreams.
