It was used 24x7, dropped and carried to harshest places. It always kept its promise of 24x7 availability. Stored many of my memories and had helped me gain great heights. Its today that my beloved laptop took its last breath. The hard disk clicks and is beyond recovery, CD-ROM refuses to spin and keyboard would simply not type. Its time to say goodbye to this friend of mine. So long dear friend..

What a shame while innocent people were being shot by terrorist in Mumbai. Our Prime Minister in his blue turban was pointing finger across border. Mr Prime minister you should have been in mumbai and taking charge. Kick your incompetent and clothes obsessed home Minster, so that he could facilitate resources to our security forces. On the same time Mr. Advani keep your mouth shut. We do not want you whining for POTA. Shame on me too who did not vote last time, but this time I would vote. The irony is I don't know whom to vote for, all our politicians are the same. 

You may call it hypothesis or upcoming fact. Collectively world war II and Cold war are known for an era when most inventions and innovations materialized. This was the time when money was pumped into various projects, just to keep the name of nation. Classic example would be space exploration. Not only this the same era called for heavy investments into research and development at defense front. Later defense projects found way into civilian life. Isn't computers network result of such project at DoD. Hope Russians splashing water in America's backyard. Would trigger another cold war. That would lead to chain reaction of funding defense, or may be implementation of missile umbrella on America. Thus Americans pumping more money into market which may lead to easy cash availability. This might give an impetus to slowing world economy.

More than 12 months ago I got rid of my cable TV connection. Since then I used to update myself via newspaper and other magazines. Entertainment was through torrent downloads ;) . This helped me to re-invent myself and get back to the habit of reading. Now I am televised again. Recently got DTH and I hope I do not over spend time watching TV. If such do happen I would go for killing my DTH connection. Till then I would enjoy BBC , Discovery and NGC . The channels I missed most.

Hope this Diwali is a time of untold Joy and happiness, and the year ahead brings good Luck and good times to cherish forever. Have a Great Diwali and New Year.

  Every time a bomb goes off  in India. We start pointing across the border. Looking at the events that have unfolded in last few months. It seems that an army regime in Pakistan was better for India. For the simple reason the army was busy in governing its own public.  Now that the so called civil government have returned in Pakistan. They have time to promote their ill deeds.  Which started with sporadic firing in the border region. This is not a good sign for India. We hope our sleepy and flabby policemen get time off from collecting hafta and seriously work upon hitting some terrorist. Till that happens, I wish Pakistan goes back to its military regime, that would engage the military  in managing its own mess.

I don't know how to thank our soldiers at front, for what they are doing day in and day out. A simple thankyou may not measure up to the supreme and ultimate duty they do. Even then Dear Soldiers please accept my thanks and negligible Tax that I pay. Don't forget brothers, their are peace times because of your selfless efforts. Thanks one more time. Bharat Mata ki Jai !!!

I have worked in more than 4 companies across industries (Fine I am flaunting my achievement) but thats the truth. Everytime I switch over I have to change salutations for internal emails. Now consider If I am in an organisation that is American enough I would start writing as Hi , I have some blah to discuss . Since it have been ages we have not blahed so lets blah blah blah Now consider I am working in a British company I would start like Dear Mr. <Lastname> , Stop being bossy , because once I say blah to you. you would get blah again. Here goes the bigeee I am writing an e-mail, in an Indian company which would go like Dear Mr. <Firstname> , You stink more than the office toilet. Some more blah and blah again   Do you notice the contrast in writing e-mails across the culture  ?  Ttheirs more to it . It's well said "History repeats" . U.S the corporate major is done with their own economy. They have done all to avoid the latest economic slow down.  Yes, this  includes bombing Iraq ( If you disagree , damn you !!  probably you work i n one of those US global company ) U.S organisations are looking for stable economies that are receptive to their products with potential to absorb finished goods. That would keep their cash registers ringing.   Lets take a sneak peek  into history. In a nut shell we can safely say, through out 19 and early 20 century. Trade or business is what has been shaping the world map.  Britisher's , Portuguese , French and many more  were establishing colonies with trade on their mind.   In modern age that colonial system will not work , so what to do ? On his birthday vishal thought, how about a new look for my website.  He searched around and found this new template.  Hope this new look brings many more new for him. One more year gone by and his to do list is getting longer each day. This dream chaser last year was on a treadmill, chasing pavements . Praying to god, that things change for him this year. As he needs to re-discovering himself. For his till now belief and dogmas  are proving wrong. May god bless him with divine love and grace. Vishal, stop chasing and start achieving.

I always wished to visit golden temple. On 25 April 2008 with almighty will and grace it came true. This visit was a result of divine will. As my previous humanly attempts resulted in standoff between divine will and humanly selfish wish. Almighty had fixed an appointment for me at vaisho devi too. Thus soon after darshan at golden temple. We left for Jammu by bus. The  next day, in  wee hours of the morning we started our ascend to the holy cave. Talking about the weather It was cloudy and at times was drizzling . We reached the holy cave by 13:00. Took a bath with chilling holy water and after darshan we started the descend via bharavnath. Finally reached udhampur to board our train to Delhi.   Thanks to the mighty will  now I can strike of one wish from my bucket list.   Jai Mata Di !!!

Last year I did not get any time to write.  This year got a chance to write and published article for SQLite . It is published in Linux For You's March 2008 edition, Page 96. It would be finally released under CC licence. The second and last part of the article might get published in April/May 2008. Enjoy reading

I always wanted to be in armed forces and serve my country. Now that I am not in armed forces. I have another way of  serving my country. I Pay my Taxes . Big deal may say some of you. May be its not a big deal for you but I feel proud, it makes me feel connected to the soldiers on guard at front. I feel proud that, with the taxes I pay we would buy new arms and war gears. Our soldiers would be paid salaries out of  it. Though paying tax makes me feel proud, but their are some areas I don't want my tax money be used. Some of many are Police officials salaries. They are efficient enough to explore  ways of earning money   Politicians salaries, do I need to explain ? Politicians specially the one who feed on bribe and do not contribute. Take an example of Sukh Ram s alleged bribe/fraud. He returned the money to Himachalis in terms of infrastructure.
